“Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever… It remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.” -Aaron Siskind(1903-1991)
I was born in Van Nuys, California in 1955. My father was a camera engineer/technician for NBC- Hollywood and that's where my fascination with photography began. He was my mentor and coach letting me take family vacation photos with our Brownie. My mother made sure we stayed up to date with world happenings, so she provided years of subscriptions to National Geographic and Life Magazine which I poured over endlessly.
Fast forward 50 years and my interest became a passion. I have progressed with the assistance of internet classes, photography clubs, workshops, books, and trial and error after retiring from teaching elementary school. My focus is on the natural world and representing it through the use of abstract, black and white, macro, landscape, and infrared photography. I hope to convey the beauty, fragility and elegance of the natural world, inspiring others to protect and save them from human harm.
My art business has been designated as a "Trusted Art Seller" with The Art Storefronts Organization, which means you can shop with confidence, and know that I stand behind the quality and value of my products.
Ansel Adams, Lewis Hine, Georgia O’Keeffe, Dorothea Lange, Edward Weston, and Michael Kenna are just a few of my inspirations. I keep discovering more!
